Theo Tanalega

I've been in the community for 3 & a half years. In these years, I have learned so much from people such as Toy Box, Jay Chris Moore, Troy Austria, JP Goldstein, Jaffar Smith, & many more. These are just some of the many people that have helped me be who I am today. I teach strictly hip hop and to keep it simple it's more than the movement to me; it's the music. I try my best to teach the body to move with the music as one. That is the most important part of dance in my opinion.

Arturo Ochoa

I've been dancing for a little less than 5 years, and I can't provide a description of my style only because I'm constantly trying to adapt and evolve depending on now how the music resonates with my body. I currently direct HoneyBadgerz, but I am also a member of Boyskouts and I have been on teams such as GRaVy Babies, Inside The Box, and Starfleet. I'm still learning new ways to move my body and represent music accordingly the way I hear it, but I hope to teach internationally in my future. I love pumpkin pie, food, flan, food, NBA 2K, food...and yeah, I just really like food.

Barkada Modern

Barkada Modern traces its roots to the Pilipino-American Student Association at Cal Poly Pomona known as Barkada. What began as a hip hop performance as part of the Pilipino-American Cultural Night(PACN) held once a year by Barkada, has since grown to a competitive dance team that competes all over California and has placed in the top 3 at several of these compeitions. Originally founded in 2005, Barkada Modern, also known as Bmod, began rehearsing on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona in front of the Music Building and on the 4th floor of the campus parking structure. Bmod officially began competing in 2007 and in 2010, moved from the campus of Cal Poly Pomona to Stylz Dance Studio in West Covina, CA.

Nicholas Roriguez

I have been dancing for over 8 yrs. When I started off dancing I was inspired by Janet Jackson's Doesn't Really Matter music video. I would watch her video over and over again practicing the choreo and at that moment that's when I knew I wanted to dance. I have been inspired by various choreographers like Luam Keflegzy, ideas from Jilian Meyers, and Jesus Velasco. The way they manipulate their bodies to the music is so eye opening. Nonetheless as a dancer my personal goal is to create something so unusual, so unique that audience can feel the passion that drives my heart and awakens my soul....LOL CREEPY. On the real I enjoy the simple things in life brownies with vanilla ice cream on top, bacon cheeseburgers ( OMG yes bacon cheeseburgers ), and I especially love Hello Kitty!
